Cape Winds is currently working tirelessly to secure a lead sponsor for AMC Tennis Academy. This sponsorship will support and assist the Academy to achieve it’s own objectives and mandate of training the youth from disadvantaged communities.

AMC Tennis Academy’s Head Coach, Abdul Maliek Cassiem, has 20 years of international coaching experience. He has coached national tennis and top individual players in South Africa, Qatar, Sudan, South Korea, England, India, Philippians and France. He has traveled with top junior tennis players to many countries and tournaments in the last 10 years. In 2010 he himself won the bronze medal in the World Senior Tennis Championship in Mexico.

AMC Tennis Academy not only trains youth in the game of tennis in the local communities, it also creates pathways for them to become tennis coaches themselves, and also to participate in international tennis tournaments.

For example, when Marlon Abrahams was only 17 years old (in 1995), Abdul Maliek Cassiem took him to Germany. They were accompanied by a group of disadvantaged youth. Marlon advanced to the Quarter Finals in one of the tournaments, and has been committed to the game of tennis for 2 decades now. Marlon is now an official coach for AMC Tennis Academy.

Cape Winds also provides business development strategy support to the AMC Tennis Academy, with the objective of developing the Academy into a sustainable and reputable organisation.

As part of our own commitment to CSI, Cape Winds felt it prudent to co-sponsor an Under 10 Tennis Tournament that was held in March 2015.
